American Academy Students Advanced to the International Stage of Technovation Girls

May 27, 2026

We are delighted to announce that the American Academy junior students, Tamar Tumanishvili and Nia Janashia, successfully participated in the “Technovation Girls Georgia” competition and were recognized among the best projects in the Senior Division. With this achievement, their project has advanced to the international stage.

“Technovation Girls” is a global initiative that empowers young women to develop innovation, leadership, and modern technological skills.

Tamar and Nia created an application called GESTO, which aims to translate Georgian Sign Language. The project’s goal is to create the first digital database of Georgian Sign Language and an AI-powered translation system.

Among 40 participating teams in the Senior Division, Tamar and Nia ranked among the top 4 winning teams nationwide.

We congratulate our students on this achievement and wish them success on the international stage!
