AAT and Academy Founder's Day

June 07, 2023

On May 25, the Guivi Zaldastanishvili American Academy marked its traditional Founder’s Day celebration, accompanied by student performances in the “AAT Day” event that evening.

Due to the pandemic, the Academy had not been able to celebrate this day for the past two years. This year, therefore, we were delighted to have the opportunity to share the school's history with the current generation of AAT students and introduce them to the ideas and vision of our founder, Mr. Givi Zaldastanishvili, which our school continues value throughout its educational life and development.

The celebration had two parts. In the morning, students watched a documentary film that explained the school's history, featuring the founders of the academy – Mr. Zaldastanishvili, Mamuka Khazaradze and Giorgi Bazghadze – as well as the founding director, Donald Thomas. They spoke about the establishment of the school and its early days. The history of the school was filled out with presentations by a number of faculty members who have been with the academy since its inception.

In the evening, the AAT day festivities took place, in which the students performed their own dances based on selected historical themes. All the students worked independently. They choreographed all dances by themselves, turning the evening into a genuine showcase of AAT student talent.

Thanks to all the participants and guests who celebrated this day with us.
