American Academy Teacher, Mariam Giorgashvili Shares Her All-Time Favorite Book

December 29, 2023

Today is a book recommendation Friday from the Donald Thomas Library!

This time Mariam Giorgashvili, the Georgian language and literature teacher at the Academy, recommends the literary work Va, Sopelo by Zaira Arsenishvili, renowned for its numerous unexpected developments and plot elements.

“The narratives take place in Telavi and offer insights into the life of Georgia throughout the 1920s and 1930s. While these stories have been passed down through generations, they are rarely portrayed in Georgian literature in such a straightforward manner.”
